Raleigh Expeditions are a unique 3-in-1 opportunity to work on remote community and environmental projects and face adventure challenges in some of the most incredible areas of the world.

Our Expeditions are all about variety. That’s why they include different people, projects, locations and challenges. There will be people like you and people from different backgrounds and cultures, including local volunteers from the Expedition countries. Together you’ll be a team with a common aim; to bring energy and inspiration to create the world that we want.

You can choose from 4, 5, 7 or 10 week Expeditions in Malaysian Borneo, Nepal, Nicaragua & Costa Rica or Tanzania. You will be challenged, have an adventure and belong to something worthwhile.

Our programmes in Costa Rica focus on access to basic services for indigenous communities and protecting natural resources.

Volunteering in Nicaragua will inspire and enable you to have a lasting positive impact on some of the poorest communities in the world. The projects you could get involved with range from trekking the jagged peaks of Irazu and Turrialba to working with entrepreneurs in Los Copales to develop soy milk businesses.

Nestled between China and India, Nepal is small but vibrant, bursting with a fusion of Tibetan and South Asian cultures. As a volunteer, you will become a part of rural life in Nepal, as you support young people and women to drive change for their communities.

In Nepal our work focuses on delivering awareness raising, peer to peer education and skills training in key areas of community resilience, such as Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Entrepreneurship Development and Community-based Natural Resource Management.

Tanzania is an East African country which packs a heck of a punch when it comes to dramatic scenery, impressive mountains, vast wilderness, and sublime national parks. It’s home to Africa’s highest mountain, and lined with an array of vibrant marine life. Inland you can find stunning wildlife such as elephants, lions, rhinos, and leopards.

In summer 2018, there will be a 4-week Expedition in Tanzania. Volunteers will work at the heart of an impactful community project and take part in an adrenaline-fuelled trek. We only offer the 4-week Expedition once a year so places are limited. Apply today to secure your place.
